Adam Steinbrenner is currently a HHMI Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, San Diego.
Starting in Fall 2019, I will be joining the University of Washington Dept. of Biology as an Assistant Professor.
I'm broadly interested in immune recognition of plant pests. Current and future interests include:
- How do plants recognize and distinguish among diverse biotic attackers, for example chewing herbivores?
- How are pest-specific defenses activated? Do pre-hormonal signaling trade-offs exist?
- How do novel recognition and signaling capacities evolve across populations and species?
